After years in a shelter, Raya was rescued and adopted into a family in Switzerland. Now, under the name Ilvy, she lives her life in freedom, away from the sadness of her past.

The process he went through

Within days of her posting, the adopter from Switzerland saw her and felt Raya was perfect for her family. From there, everything was fast – Raya was given a new name, Ilvy, and a new life with her brother and sisters in Switzerland. From a dog who looked longingly and sadly over the gate of the pen, Ilvy became a dog full of life, running freely and happily on the Swiss plains.

What I learned from this experience

Raya's story once again showed us the power of a new beginning. Every dog in a shelter deserves a chance at a loving life. When given that chance, the transformation is spectacular. Raya has put years of suffering behind her and has finally found the place she calls "home".
